Main questions for the documentary

Why is gaming so addictive?

1.       What is addiction?
http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/addiction/Pages/addictionwhatisit.aspx

This link is about addiction and what it is because my main topic is about addiction for gaming I through t I could use a question that would first explain the meaning for addiction and how you can tell if some has got an addiction.
"People may spend hours each day and night surfing the internet or playing games while neglecting other aspects of their lives" for this question i am basing my answers on this quote from the NHS.
for example if i ask a gamer and ask them to describe their daily routine with a computer, if the results are similar to the t quote i can then go on to another question asking them how do games make people addicted to them after a while.

I want to ask what is addiction because I personally would like to find out as i do play games for a long period of times when it’s the holidays however when its school days i don't really play games.
Because i want to find this out it can all tie in to the same question but as a sub heading because i don't want to lose focuses to the main question.

I will be using this question to set a foundation to the documentary because the main aspect is to find out what an addiction is and then find out more about gaming addiction

2.      What makes a game addictive?
http://www.video-game-addiction.org/what-makes-games-addictive.html

This question can be seemed as very vague because it does not state what the genre is or the age group therefore people may take the question in the wrong way the aim of the question is to find out the key aspects to the addiction in games like this link said "beating the score, getting a high score, beating the game, discovery and relationships with people you meet on-line" the last part to the quote is a bit strange "relationships" for this point they mean the people you become friends with or even if you join a team you don't want to let them down and you want to win as a team

I will be using this question to follow up the foundation because the aim of the documentary is to first find out what an addiction is in general and then continue to do more investigation about the gaming element. This question is there to link to the interviews and would then be followed up by clips because i will ask vex pops what make a game addictive if its killing, levelling up or just being better than your friends.

3.       What genre is played that get people addicted to them?
http://www.video-game-addiction.org/most-addictive-video-games.html

Because currently focusing on addiction and addiction towards games i haven't yet set a genre i want to put the focus on after explain the addiction. For this i have choose MMO and MOBA these two are the leading genre in sales as well as players therefore in my own opinion and facts from this website these two are were addiction lies  "World of War craft" and "Ever quest."
With more than 10 million registered players all over the world, Blizzard Entertainment's "World of War craft" (WOW) is often called "World of War craft"
As you can see in the quote its self they state the number of sales and where the addiction is this is the reason i have chosen the two genres and how the game affects the people who play

4.       Is gaming detrimental for the body after a long period of time?
http://www.ascilite.org.au/ajet/ajet24/ip.pdf
This question is going to follow up the experiment as the test subject will be staying up for a number of nights playing MMO and MOBA genre games. In this PDF it shows you the effects of gaming do to the person after doing an experiment similar to mine they first explain what gaming is then explain the experiment then summaries it then tell you the result of the experiment and from there you can then notice the change the person had gone through from start to finish

This question is going to be used in the documentary because this is when the experiment would take over the interest of the viewer. However this question would be the foundation for the experiment to start. This question is only going to be mentioned with fact and figures to point my point about how gaming can affect you after a long period of time

5. How can people get over the gaming addiction?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/video-games/10451600/Five-tips-on-beating-video-game-addiction.html

This question is the conclusion to the documentary in forming ways that you can beat a gaming addiction or any other addiction "Time yourself, read a walkthrough of the game, Find some cheats, look around: are friends real or virtual?, start playing games with your friends and not alone" these are the points that i would like to put out for overcoming a gaming addiction as i feel myself they have and the necessary point for example "find some cheats" if you find some cheats for a game that you have already completed you would then get very bored and stop playing the game and then to fill that time you can go out or do anything active away from the computer

This question will be the final question and will be the outro to the whole documentary; this question is to tell people how to how they can see an addiction in people and how they can overcome the addiction all together with or without any help
